Royal House and Gardens....

Well we couldn't pitch-up at our campsite on the Sandringham Estate without a visit to the house and gardens....

We had originally planned to visit the gardens during the Sandringham flower show last Wednesday but the weather proved to be pretty inclement and we did not fancy trudging around the show in the wet.... Even the attendance of Prince Charles and Camilla couldn't drag us up there in the wet weather.......

Thursday proved to be a much better day so a decision was made and we wandered up to the house and gardens on that day for our visit....

We enjoyed our visit and the museum in the old stable block was very interesting with a number of cars on display that had been used by various members of the Royal Family over the years....

We also visited the church just outside the main gardens where the Queen and other members of the Royal Family attend the service on Christmas morning......

I've posted below just a few of the images I took during our visit.....

  1. I love visiting places like this, even if its just to gape at the sheer opulence of the lifestyle that they lead. We've just come back from the Dales and Chatsworth House ...that to me takes the top award in opulence.

I agree ...I visited Chatsworth a few years ago and it is a pretty grand and splendid place.
I trust that you had a good time in the Dales..

If my memory serves me well at least three Steve...They also had a Metro Cab that Prince Phillip used to drive around London and the MGC that Prince Charles used to drive....
